The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Merchandise Flow Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

  • Define the playbook for preferred physical product flow paths from source to customer; ensure these are represented within New Product Introduction flow plans.
  • Collaborates with Business SC / Portfolio and Planning; and creates linkage into New Product Introduction process.
  • Map out by Division any special Customer requirements.
  • Creates linkage into New Product Introduction process.
  • Provides coordination of recovery plans for material flow exceptions or deviations for cross-regional, cross-functional issues.
  • Define with IT the check list of standard system flow requirements
  • Create playbook and own transit time governance with Planning and Global Service Centers.
  • Defines process for material flow exceptions or deviations
  • Outline SOPs from defined physical product flow playbook
  • For all above, oversees all tasks are fulfilled for goods to move and addresses deviations, following processes outlined in standard operating procedures (SOPs). Accordingly, collaborates closely with Business Supply Chain and Planning.
  • As needed provides project management responsibility for cross regional / functional / systems issues e.g., cyber-attack, crisis.
  • Track product flow accuracy (e.g. Master Data and transit time). Set up tools / reports as required.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of supply chain and / or merchandise flow in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong ability to work in cross functional teams.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze information.
  • Focus and remain on task in fast paced work environment.
  • Work location :

  • Maplewood, MN (fully onsite)
  • Travel : May include up to 5% domestic / international

    The expected compensation range for this position is $212,947 - $260,268, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and / or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
