Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for a short-term Level II Trauma facility; first-time travelers welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a short-term acute care hospital in the acute care PT unit
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 1 for therapy sessions
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts, 7 : 00 to 15 : 00
  • Rotating weekend coverage with full-time therapy staff required
  • No call and no floating between units assigned, but may float to nearby sister facilities as needed
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is required
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Main responsibilities include providing one-on-one acute care physical therapy to adult patients
  • Expect to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team
  • Orientation modules are required prior to start and are self-reported
  • Solid navy blue scrub attire is required
  • Free employee and visitor parking available on site
  • Return staff must be separated for at least 3 months prior to rehire as a traveler
  • Limited RTO (requested time off) must be submitted up front; excessive requests may delay or prevent offer consideration
  • Travelers are expected to float to other in-state facilities if required

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care physical therapy experience required
  • Valid state PT license required if applicable; compact license must be active at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must provide two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility
  • Must be able to work at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Background check must be clear of Nursys or background policy hits
