Eaton's IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Material Planner - Aerospace Manufacturing. The expected annual salary range for this role is $77,000 - $105,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do :
Primary Function : The Material Production Planner will generate, maintain and follow-up on production schedules for our Camarillo Aerospace manufacturing facility, based on customer demand, shortages, lead time, capacity and other internal targets and considerations, ensuring the supply of components to the customer, whether internal or external, on quantity & on time. This is a key position of a High-Performance Work Team (HPWT) and will be leading actions and follow-up meetings with different departments to ensure KPI's are at target levels (Service. Quality, Safety, Inventory, Flex Productivity).
Essential Functions :
- Schedule and coordinate the flow of work within or between departments in manufacturing and between plants to expedite production and material flow.
- Establish priorities for specific customer orders, and revise schedule according to work order specifications, and availability or capability of employees, parts, materials, machines, and equipment.
- Plan and allocate materials based on prescribed methodology and provide timely delivery to customers.
- Ensure that materials, supplies, and services are provided by supplier in support of internal and external customer requirements.
- Generate work orders and release them to the shop floor according to production plan.
- Generate action plans and follow-up focused on achieving results (Close Actions)
- Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay to meet target delivery.
- Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials constraints.
- Monitor work orders to ensure they will be finished on time.
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
- Collaborate with production, tool room, purchasing, OPEX, quality control, warehouse, and other staff to achieve the results.
- Develop and implement best practices, and procedures, and select alternative methods where appropriate to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through service, productivity, and cycle time reduction goals.
- Ensure stock levels are kept within target.
- Ensure KPI's are met for assigned area.
- Level production based on constraints and as needed to meet the customers expectations.
- Follow-up on quality, manpower and other issues proactively to meet production schedule targets.
- On a weekly basis each planner must re-schedule past due orders per capacity and constraints.
- Drive part deliveries to minimize part shortages.
- Analyze inventory levels and meet days on hand (DOH) objectives.
- Participate in Annual Physical Inventory and assist with cycle count, inventory adjustments, and root cause analysis to prevent inventory errors.
- Participate in Eaton continuous improvement programs and actively seek continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
