Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Byron, IL is seeking a skilled School Psychologist for a contract position through the next school year. This role plays a critical part in evaluating and supporting students to ensure they receive appropriate educational services.

Key Responsibilities : Conduct evaluations as a diagnostic member of the IEP team to determine student eligibility for special education services. Select and administer appropriate assessment tools based on referral concerns. Interpret evaluation results and prepare detailed reports for IEP eligibility meetings. Assess how well students fit within their current educational environment, considering learning styles, instructional methods, available resources, and peer interactions. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators, alongside the School Social Worker, to address academic and behavioral challenges through formal support systems such as Student Assistance Teams. Participate actively in the district-wide Response to Intervention (RtI) team. Meet with parents before IEP meetings to review assessment findings and address concerns.

Qualifications : Valid licensure or certification as a School Psychologist. Experience working with K-12 student populations. Strong skills in assessment, report writing, and consultation. Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of special education laws, processes, and intervention strategies.
