Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse - ICU RN

POSITION TYPE : Registered Nurse (RN)

SPECIALTY UNIT : Intensive Care Unit - ICU

LOCATION :  Sanford, FL

SHIFT :  Day Shift

JOB TYPE : Full-Time Permanent

Job Description :

We are currently in need of a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join a high-performing team in a 16-bed unit. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. As an ICU RN, you will care for critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and complex interventions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform comprehensive assessments to evaluate patient conditions and prioritize care needs.
  • Monitor and respond to critical changes in patients’ vital signs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and procedures.
  • Advocate for patients, ensuring safety and dignity at every stage of care.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 1 year recent ICU experience in an acute care setting required
  • Active Florida RN license or a compact state RN license (must obtain Florida license within 60 days of relocation)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or Diploma); BSN preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification within 30 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire

  • Unit Size : 16 beds
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, depending on acuity
