Janitorial Maintenance Worker
Performs entry-level work and is responsible for all janitorial duties for City buildings at various locations, and for maintaining the cleanliness of sidewalks surrounding the buildings. Generally, this position uses routine skills and works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle and feel items, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds and push, pull, drag up to 150 pounds. Equipment, machines, tools and work aids : Towels, brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet extractor. Working environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and / or humid conditions. Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
