Job Overview
The Printing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Printing Department. This includes managing the production schedule, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to achieve seamless operations. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of printing equipment and processes, and the ability to manage a team effectively. The Printing Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that all printed materials meet the company's quality and efficiency standards.
The job functions include but are not limited to the following
Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment.
Encourages and leads team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices for their benefit.
Leads safety meetings and activities, creating a safety culture that promotes and recognizes employee engagement.
Manages and facilitates daily operations in the Printing Department.
Utilizes knowledge and experience to provide training to team members.
Responsible for their individual performance.
Helps team achieve goals and has responsibility for personnel issues, including required discipline.
Oversees scheduling, material handling issues and maintenance, as well as resolving production problems.
Provides a communication network between direct reports and upper management.
Assures that the team maintains quality standards.
Ensures that product quality, production efficiency, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.
Strives to be technically proficient on the machinery in the department.
Ensures equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, quality, safety incidents and overall continuous improvement of products and processes) as required.
Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International's good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values : Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills :
Strong Leadership Skills such asthe ability to inspire and delegate, conflict-resolution management, and effective decision making.
Leadership experience and / or attributes, including the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.
Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors.
