About The Position
The engineer performs civil and structural design in support of projects, engineering studies, engineering design calculations, and project management activities for the maintenance and renovation of existing, or design and construction of new transmission lines, structures, structure foundations; and other facilities.
Key responsibilities include :
Perform detailed civil, structural, and foundation design associated with new and aging infrastructure. Work cooperatively with the drafting group to complete drawings. Design typically consists of :
Deep foundation design to support steel monopoles
Load development for transmission line structures
Steel and foundation modifications to existing transmission structures
Occasional site maintenance of transmission line right of way
Prepare specifications for materials and construction contracts, bid documents, drawing packages, and assist in the development of cost and schedule estimates.
Coordinate design activities with other departments and outside companies such as : real estate, drafting, other engineering groups, environmental services, construction crews, contractors, and consulting firms.
Effectively maintain schedules, track project progress, and manage the civil / structural aspects of large transmission line projects.
Facilitate / assist acquiring permits to perform construction activities.
Perform site visits during design and construction activities to ensure quality control.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree (i.e. Architectural Engineering), with a structural emphasis, from an accredited college or university is required.
Consideration will be given to new graduates.
Applicant must have or obtain Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) within one year of employment.
Candidate must be willing to pursue and ultimately obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Missouri and / or Illinois.
Familiarity with ACI and AISC is strongly preferred; ASCE and IBC are preferred.
Experience with LPile and MFAD preferred
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate :
Good analytical, written and verbal communication, and human relations skills. The ability to work effectively as
part of a team. Ability to handle multiple projects with varying completion dates.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and / or an individual
aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
Compensation Range :
$69,300.00 - $168,000.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
