Experience Requirements
- Active certification from a nationally recognized accrediting agency such as the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Acceptable certifications : CCS, CPC, CRC, RHIT (held for at least 3 years)
Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience (Inpatient and / or Outpatient ICD-10 coding).Not eligible : CPC-A, CDI, Revenue Integrity Specialist, Revenue Cycle, LPN, or HIMS as most recent experience.Strong understanding of current coding principles and medical record documentation requirements.HCC experience preferred but not required.Experience with coding software (3M, Optum 360, TruCode, etc.) preferred but not required.Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology required.Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, time management, and independence in meeting deadlines.Strong computer literacy and comfort using web-based audit tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Employment Requirements
Must have access to a smartphone or tablet (iPad preferred) to utilize the clients audit tool.Attendance is mandatory and paid for a 4-day virtual training : January 21 24, 2026.Must attend daily virtual coder calls throughout the project (typically at 1 : 00 PM EST).Weekly commitment : Minimum of 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 6 AM 6 PM in your local time zone.Any unplanned time off between December 2025 - March 2026 be communicated immediately to the administrative team.Responsibilities
Abstract diagnoses from inpatient and outpatient medical records.Validate acceptable dates of service and required documentation.Confirm provider signatures and state-accepted credentials.Verify that the record originates from the provider rendering the service(s).Conflict of Interest Restrictions
