What You Will Do

Hot Section Module Center is looking to hire a New Product Introduction (NPI) Coatings Manufacturing Engineer to support machining new parts in our Special Technologies business. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. They will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective process design. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. Primary location in East Hartford CT and up to 20% travel may be required.

  • Develop tooling, process parameters, and controls to create a capable and stable process
  • Develop, test, and implement programs to machine hardware (milling, turning, grind, etc.)
  • Create work instructions for development hardware
  • Perform technology and process development tasks, including first piece runs, measurement system analysis and capability assessments
  • Implementation of lean process improvements activities to meet schedule and cost targets

Qualifications

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science or other related Bachelors' degree
  • Experience in CNC machine programming
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • CAD experience is required
  • Must be a US Citizen due to Government Contracts
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Proficiency in the application of continuous improvement tools : Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, PFMEA, Six Sigma and / or Red-X

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including the role, function and responsibilities, candidate experience, location, education, and key skills.
