Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time HVAC Control Technician position for the Memorial Union at Oregon State University (OSU). The Memorial Union (MU) is the campus student union and a department of the Division of Student Affairs. The MU employs over 30 professional staff and 400 student staff, serving over 10,000 daily users. MU welcomes students, faculty, staff and visitors, and its mission is to provide learning experiences and opportunities for growth in an inclusive community. The MU provides facility services for Cultural Centers, Child Care Center, Retail Food Services, and the Student Experience Center. Facilities include HVAC systems with varying ages.

Responsibilities The HVAC Control Technician uses knowledge of pneumatic and electronic controls to install, alter, calibrate, repair, and maintain HVAC control systems, building automation control systems, and energy management control systems. The position works in a team environment with other trades staff and student employees.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

The position usually runs Monday–Friday 6 : 00-2 : 30, but requires a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and inclement weather. The role may require on-call duty one weekend per month and emergency call-ins. The incumbent must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull carts of similar weight, and work in extreme weather, noise, dust, and confined areas. Core responsibilities include continuous overhead work, bending, stooping, and standing. Communications radio is required. The position may involve interacting with staff, students, and vendors.
