NEW / USED TRUCK COST ACCOUNTANT

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting principles and practices. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting for new and used trucks and trailers.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Print out invoices from the truck manufacturers and record the cost on the general ledger.
• Track all costs that occur for new and used trucks and ensure they are assigned to the correct truck.
• Create a folder for used trucks and setup costs in accounting software
• Create sales folders for each truck / trailer sold and ensure all needed documentation is enclosed in the sales folder throughout the sales process.
• Calculate commissions for sales staff and verify amounts once they are entered into the accounting system.
• Calculate Federal Excite tax
• Complete necessary documentation for the Accounting Department for payments received on all truck sales
• Reconcile flooring account balances against the bank flooring balances
• Create purchase orders for service work to be done on trucks
• Create journal entries for accounting for the sale or transfer of trucks
