Overview
As a Payments Solutions Consultant , you will act as a trusted advisor and technical SME supporting our Payment and Software Sales Teams. Your focus will be on the pre-sales process—partnering with account executives to design, position, and deliver solutions that align 8am's payment technologies with the unique needs of law firms and professional service organizations.
By combining deep product expertise, consultative discovery skills, and market knowledge, you will help shape deal strategy, deliver value-based demonstrations and accelerate revenue growth while strengthening 8am's position as the trusted leader in legal and professional services payments.

What you\'ll do
- Partner with Account Executives to uncover customer objectives, workflows and technical requirements.
- Translate business challenges into solution recommendations and demonstrate how 8am\'s payments ecosystem drives measurable business value.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations, proof-of-concept and solution-oriented presentations that highlight ROI, compliance and operational efficiencies.
- Serve as the SME on 8am\'s suite of payment and related software solutions.
- Anticipate and address technical questions during the sales cycle with clarity and confidence.
- Provide competitive intelligence and positioning strategies that differentiate 8am in the market.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to develop playbooks, demo scripts, presentation materials and templates that scale across the sales organization.
- Train and mentor sales reps on product knowledge, discovery techniques and demo execution.
- Influence product roadmap and go-to-market positioning with insights from complex sales cycles.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor solutions and emerging fintech / legal tech developments.
- Use industry knowledge to guide sales conversations and strengthen 8am\'s position as a thought leader in payments for professional services.
About you
Bachelor\'s degree preferred3-5 years in pre-sales consulting, technical sales or sales engineering in SaaS, fintech or paymentsPrior experience in the legal industry (paralegal, office admin, legal ops, etc.) strongly preferredAbility to clearly communicate technical informationAbility to autonomously manage ambiguous situationsStrong interest in learning new and challenging platformsFamiliarity with security, compliance and integration concerns common to small to medium sized professional service providersDeep understanding of merchant processing including interchange, compliance (PCI, AML, data security) and integrations with practice management systemsTechnical skills combined with significant social skillsGenuine passion for customer service and supportComfort conducting demos and participating on calls for extended periodsExperience working in a Salesforce environment with an understanding of the platform, users, and the partner ecosystem requiredExperience with sales methodologies such as Sandler, MEDDICC or ChallengerAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and quickly acquire new skillsLocation preference : Austin, TXWhy 8am
