The Vanderbilt Eye Institute (VEI) seeks a dynamic, innovative, and accomplished physician-scientist, physician-clinical investigator, or physician-educator to serve as the next Director of our Glaucoma Division. The division consists of 6 dedicated specialists that complement a world-class research program in glaucoma known for its basic, translational and clinical investigations.

Our transformative educational programs include an active glaucoma fellowship and 5 ophthalmology residents per year. The next division director will have an opportunity to significantly grow and innovate the division and expand the regional and national impact of its clinical, research and educational missions.

The Vanderbilt Eye Institute is home to a multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with more than 60 clinical and research full-time faculty members, state of the art facilities and equipment, and multiple satellite locations to accommodate over 175,000 patient visits annually. Our culture is rooted in purpose, relationships and collaborations that seek to transform eye care.

The division director will set the strategic direction for a thriving division of skilled glaucoma specialists, driving clinical and surgical innovation, pioneering research, and glaucoma educational excellence that will set a national standard in glaucoma care and teaching. VEI faculty members contribute to a vibrant, collaborative, and nurturing academic environment, training some of the brightest residents, medical students, and fellows.
