Job Summary :
Industrial Journeyman Electricians will install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures. They will work on underground cable and conduit installation, terminating, and equipment installation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Must be able to decipher and read blueprints and specifications without supervision to determine the scope of work : locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Identify all tools required for tasks.
- Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Cut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprints.
- Install, modify, and fabricate cable tray as necessary according to specifications.
- Pull cable through specified pathways.
- Assemble and install electrical equipment.
- Terminate wires and cable to electrical equipment such as but not limited to breakers, control panels, and distribution systems.
- Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
- Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and to ensure the equipment is in good operational condition.
- Setup and maintain temporary power systems.
- Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.
- Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.
Education :
Licensed Journeyman ElectricianNational Center for Construction Education and Research's (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Electrician.Experience :
Must have 4+ years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician Helper or above.Knowledge Skills & Abilities :
Must be able to demonstrate former knowledge and experience working on high voltage systems.Must know basic electrical theory for example but not limited to ohms law.Must be able to install and modify cable tray using hand tools and power tools.Must be able to bend and cut conduit using hand saws, hand tube bending equipment as well as power and hydraulic cutting and tube bending devices.Must be proficient in cable pulling methods used to run cable through specified pathways.Must be able to use specialized electrical tools such as but not limited to ohm meters, multi-meters, and terminating devices.Must be able to terminate both High and low-voltage equipment and cable / wiring.Must be able to troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical malfunctions.Must be able to identify different types, gauges, and colors of cables and wires.Must be able to illustrate knowledge and experience of working with a lock-out tag-out system.Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft.Must have all the required tools.Employees must be capable of performing skilled labor for up to 12 hours a day.Must be dependable and operate with a high level of integrity.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environmentWork Location and Travel :

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday to Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.This position is safety sensitive in nature, which means employees perform duties so fraught with risks of injury to self or others, or environmental injury, that even a momentary lapse of concentration or attention can have disastrous consequences.The working environment is often in harsh elements (hot / humid and / or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Talk / Hear : Must be able to communicate effectively to coordinate tasks, interpret instructions, and ensure clear communication with team members and clients.
Stand / Sit : Alternates between standing and sitting to perform tasks at various heights and positions, whether working on equipment at ground level or installing fixtures overhead.
Walk : Frequently required to walk to move between work sites, transport tools and materials, and access different areas of a job site.
Use hands / fingers to handle or feel : Frequently use hands and fingers for handling, to manipulate tools, install electrical components, and perform precise tasks such as wiring and connections.
Climb : Occasionally climbs to reach elevated areas where electrical work is required, such as installing overhead wiring or accessing high equipment.
Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl : Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch to access confined spaces, work under equipment, and perform tasks in low or tight areas.
See : Must have good vision to read blueprints, identify electrical components, inspect work, and ensure accuracy in installations and repairs.
Carry, weight, Lift : Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as equipment and materials to perform installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks effectively on-site.
Exposure to work : Works in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, chemicals, and outdoor elements during fieldwork. Requires the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, but does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
