Education and Experience
High school degree is required.
Experience in a desktop support role is desired.
Environmental / Working Conditions
Candidate must be able to work in confined areas throughout the hospital. This position also requires work in construction areas. Requires travel to PNS affiliated clinics within a 100 mile radius of the hospital. Must provide own transportation, mileage will be reimbursed at current UMC rates.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Employee must be able to successfully handle stressful and high volume situations. All interactions with users and co-workers must always be professional and meet the UMC Standards of Excellence.
Job Description
This position assists staff with technical support of desktop / mobile computers, applications, and related technology. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication, and problem solving skills.
Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations
Technical Certifications : UMC requires that all Desktop Support Technicians maintain a baseline of education and certification. The certification levels adjust to accommodate technology trends and advancements.
Physical Capabilities
Ability to lift equipment that should not exceed 75 lbs. Ability to walk to all areas of the hospital and TTUHSC areas. Ability to drive to all remote locations as required.
Skills and Abilities
Provide help desk / telephone support to end-users.
Provide technical support at a personal level.
Present a customer service attitude at all times.
Efficient phone, listening and typing skills.
Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
Maintain professional certifications as required.
