Job Description :

The Account Manager will be responsible for sales and delivery to the individual's target account(s). This leader will be a strategic minded and execution-oriented leader. This position will require the ability to grow an account portfolio for an organization that specializes in business and IT consulting for the telecommunications market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management and business development with prior experience selling consulting services and to the telecom, cable and media sectors.

The candidate must develop and maintain relationships with customer staff in order to rapidly expand business. The candidate must clearly understand the business units' strategic directions, as well as the Company's overall strategy, in order to make appropriate decisions regarding risks and opportunities. The candidate will work cooperatively with other Company managers to capture new business and deliver solutions to new and existing customers.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide thought leadership and serve as a trusted advisor to a major tier one telecommunications company's C-level business executives and other senior business / functional / IT team members.
  • Strategic thinker who can identify, qualify, develop, and capture new business opportunities inside of client account that lead to revenue generation and Excelacom business growth.
  • Manage the integrity and growth of this relationship and drive new business opportunities inside the account.
  • Lead the development of winning strategies through competitive analysis, pricing analysis and recommendations.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews.
  • Form relationships with account teams.
  • Oversee implementation of complex or multiple functional / business process solutions and participate in a wide range of activities from feasibility and requirements analysis through process design and implementation.
  • Champion knowledge management by producing intellectual capital including proposals, client deliverables and best practices within this major account and contribute collateral to Excelacom's Delivery Framework.
  • Serve as the performance manager or mentor for members of the account team, provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to staff in their business career path.
  • Support Performance Management Process (goals, reviews, engagement reviews, career development).
  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing of potential candidates.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Experience as an IT consultant with at least 7 years of working directly with clients on IT consulting or systems integration projects and ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction.
  • Business development and sales skills as evidenced by prior success in maintaining and growing client revenues for IT consulting services, software product sales and implementation.
  • Relationship management with client C-level executives, partners, internal corporate executives and staff.
  • Skilled in creating proposals and presentations, and contract management skills including negotiation of fees, deliverables and terms & conditions.
  • Experience creating and negotiating both short-term and long-term contracts including MSAs, SOWs and CRs.
  • Proven expertise in IT consulting and systems integration leadership through effective management of complex IT services and projects, including people, processes and deliverables.
  • Proven project delivery skills from inception to production deployment for multiple projects.
  • Telecommunications or cable industry skills such as CRM, billing, network and ERP are highly preferred.
  • Functional domain knowledge in wireless, wireline, cable, residential, small business, enterprise, backhaul and international. Must have a broad understanding of the business drivers toward convergence and the challenges, opportunities and competitive landscape in the industry.
  • Experience in risk management to identify contingencies in mitigating risk to the client and Excelacom.
  • Outstanding communications skills, both written and oral, and demonstrated track record of success as defined by revenue growth through these communications skills.
  • Experience in systems development life cycle with knowledge of agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to other client sites or Excelacom offices.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • An advanced degree such as an MBA is desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of telecom industry convergence trends, regulatory challenges, and competitive dynamics.
  • Familiarity with telecom operations such as backhaul, provisioning, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Ability to position Excelacom's value proposition within the context of digital transformation and operational efficiency.
