As a Security Officer - Government Patrol in Topeka, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining visible to help to deter security-related incidents and provide peace of mind for those on site. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, responding to potential concerns, and delivering outstanding customer service through clear communication and a helpful attitude. Pay Rate : $14.18 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

Mon 08 : 00 AM - 04 : 00 PM

Tue 08 : 00 AM - 04 : 00 PM

Sat 12 : 00 AM - 12 : 00 PM

Sun 12 : 00 AM - 12 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any security-related irregularities, including property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to personnel and visitors.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and / or government personnel as required by the location.
  • Document incidents and daily activities in a clear and concise manner according to Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Follow post orders and instructions as provided by Allied Universal and site management.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
