Role Title : AI / ML Engineering Lead

Role Summary

Our client is building a high-impact engineering team in New York City to tackle the future of identity, deepfake detection, and AI / ML-powered security. This role is foundational to shaping the technical strategy, architecture, and product delivery of a fast-moving startup focused on solving complex challenges in digital trust and authentication. The Engineering Lead will define the technical vision, lead the team, and ensure delivery of secure, scalable, AI-powered solutions that protect users and enterprises from identity fraud.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team.
Define and execute the technical strategy and architecture.
Collaborate with product and design to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Oversee development of AI / ML-powered identity verification systems.

Required Qualifications

Proven track record leading engineering teams in startup environments.

Expertise in Python and React with strong architectural vision.

Experience in cybersecurity and AI / ML product development.

Ability to shape technical strategy and engineering culture.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Nice To Have

Prior experience in deepfake detection or identity security.

Familiarity with biometric authentication or fraud prevention tools.

Experience integrating with enterprise platforms (e.g., Okta, Workday).

Knowledge of SOC 2 compliance and secure development practices.

Background in startup or high-growth environments.

Bonus Nice to Have

Experience with agentic AI systems or multimodal models.

Contributions to open-source AI or security projects.

Prior work in regulated industries or government-facing applications.
