Position Title : Maintenance Engineer

Work Location : Elkhorn, NE 68022

Assignment Duration : 1 year

Work Schedule : Able to work weekends & extended shifts (i.e. 10 hrs., 12 hrs.) as per business ne eds.

Position Summary : Respond and assists in recovery and repair of utilities and production equipment.

Background & Context : Current technician has decided to change career, creating an urgent need for a skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshoot failed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic components utilizing basic and advanced problem-solving techniques, will require knowledge of various levels of test equipment up to and including predictive maintenance tools.
  • Complete assigned preventative maintenance actions utilizing developed standards as prescribed by OEM and engineering specifications, includes minor and major overhauls, calibration, detailed inspections, and basic cleaning and lubricating.
  • Complete basic and advanced corrective action repairs supporting safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Perform tolerance specific fabrication tasks utilizing shop equipment such as mills, lathes, drill press, and welding methods.
  • Ability to utilize computerized maintenance management software such as SAP to review assigned work, generate work requirements, and document detail work completion.
  • Support training of autonomous maintenance work groups (equipment operators) in the areas of principles of operation, basic equipment inspection, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Participate in basic and advanced problem-solving initiatives intended to support site continual improvement, knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance and or Lean initiatives are desired.
  • Able to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected.

Qualification & Experience :

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment OR
  • Associates degree with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment OR
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of safe work with demonstrated safety leadership examples.
  • Ability to troubleshoot AC & DC drives systems, PLC and electrical controls.
  • Working knowledge of motor controls, programmable control logic & input and output.
  • Computer skills (MS Office).
  • Knowledge of SAP systems as it pertains to maintenance and operations a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • TPM / Lean knowledge and application, including continual improvement process application.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of External Device Monitoring and Safety Relays.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E.
  • Strong Electrical and mechanical troubleshoot skills (Hydraulic, pneumatic & mechanical drive systems, and Principle of operation).
  • Electrical skills (NEC, AC & DC circuits, 480V power distribution, industrial wiring).
  • Advance Electrical circuits.
  • Advance PLC / hardwire logic circuits knowledge.
  • Knowledge and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Motors, Drives, Sensors.
  • Read and interpret machine, electrical and facility drawings.
  • Familiar with CMMS and Control systems.
  • Ability to be self-managed performing work unsupervised, re-priorities as necessary.
  • Must demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Good communication skills with operators, other technicians, and resources.
  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions / recommendations based on analysis.
  • Ability to integrate into all parts of the operation to support the facility in achieving our goals & objectives.
  • Understand how automated equipment and its components work.
  • Remain proficient with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical control systems, electromechanical systems, instrumentation, and fluid power.
  • Properly use mechanical and electrical tools and diagnostic instruments.
  • Understand the operating principles and function of the electrical control and power components and circuits utilized in automated equipment.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial circuits used in control and distribution.
  • Have knowledges of Arch Flash, LOTO, PTWs, etc.
  • Experience with manufacturing, production, automation equipment, and electrical systems (480V to 24V).
  • Background in chillers and HVAC systems.
  • Willingness to obtain a 3rd Grade Boiler license within the second year of employment.
  • Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Nice to have-certifications :

  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E certification.
  • Arch Flash Training.
  • 3rd Grade Boiler License (or willingness to obtain).
  • Journeyman Electrician License (Nebraska).
  • Apprentice Electrician License.
  • HVAC License.
