Mental Health / Behavioral Therapists at Child Inspired work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary practice model to empower kids, parents and families with individualized, therapeutic support tailored to each child and familys unique abilities and needs. Clinicians address the therapeutic needs of children with a variety of mental health, developmental, and social-emotional conditions to enhance their function and independence during daily activities performed at home, school, and throughout the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform intake assessments and / or implement interventions for children, youth, and young adults referred with needs in the areas of inattention, anxiety, depression, bereavement, emotional / behavioral challenges, and other social / familial challenges.
- Conduct assessments for determination of strengths or needs in the areas of cognitive and mental health functioning and implement interventions and strategies that promote function within child / familys environmental contexts.
- Evaluate coping and adaptive skills related to the childs participation in learning and daily self-help activities and / or implement interventions.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, which includes family members, pediatrician, and / or other pediatric professionals.
- Provide education to caregivers on home programs, training, and coaching to enhance skill development (both of child & caregiver).
- Identify opportunities / needs for program improvement and seek appropriate guidance for implementing change.
- Provide therapeutic services to children and families within a multi-context practice model, including clinic, community, and / or school settings (detailed per position).
Competencies
Active State of DE Professional LicenseActive Board CertificationMinimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience (preferred)Proof of drivers license and active vehicle insurance policyCompliance with State of DE Mandatory Reporting and Chaperone LawsParticipation in continuing education coursework in alignment with area of practice and licensure requirementsMay be required to work outside the traditional work schedule
