Overview
The Spanish Language Facilitator teaches Spanish language skills to students at multiple levels, from introductory to advanced. Instruction focuses on developing vocabulary, grammar, conversation, listening and writing abilities to support effective communication in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging Spanish language lessons that cater to varying proficiency levels of students.
- Encourage students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their Spanish language skills.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment. Encourage active participation and facilitate group discussions and activities.
- Offer additional support and resources to students who require extra help. Address individual learning needs and provide personalized feedback.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve the curriculum. Incorporate innovative teaching methods and materials to enhance the learning experience.
- Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and tools for language instruction. Participate in professional development activities as required.
- Promote cultural awareness and sensitivity in the classroom. Encourage students to share their cultural backgrounds and experiences to enrich the learning environment.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Associate's degree or higher; high level of Spanish-speaking proficiency, with excellent pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary.Some teaching experience, preferably in teaching languages in a similar educational setting.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment.Ability to engage and motivate participants from diverse backgrounds.Physical Demands
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present verbal lectures / demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty (20) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
