Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center has an exciting opportunity available at our Nashville and Clarksville sites for a skilled, resourceful, and motivated individual who would like to make a difference in the lives of others in helping a non-for-profit organization fulfill its mission to provide quality health care. Reporting to the Dental Director, the Registered Dental Hygienist (RDA) will be responsible for providing the following to include, but not limited to :

• Performs clinical examinations of the teeth and surrounding tissues charting results for diagnosis and treatment by dentist
• Initiate dental prophylactic treatments
• Instruct patients in the care of the teeth and mouth
• Promote treatment plans and encourage patients to begin treatment
• Maintain a clean and organized operatory
• Prepare impressions and / or models for removable prosthetics
• Remove deposits and stains from teeth surfaces of the depth of the gingival sulcus
• Polish natural and restored surfaces of teeth
• Expose and develop dental x-ray film
• Remove sutures
• Place and remove periodontal pack and perform certain other auxiliary treatments as specified in current regulations

Certification / degree from an accredited school of Dental Hygiene required. Must be licensed to practice in the state of Tennessee and license must be maintained throughout employment with MWCHC. Candidates must have a valid CPR certification, which must be maintained throughout employment. One year of previous experience required. A bilingual candidate (Spanish speaking) is preferred. Will be required to work in both the Nashville and Clarksville, TN facilities.
