We are a growing, patient-focused oral surgery practice in Scottsdale and Sedona, AZ, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and consistently exceeding patient expectations. We’re seeking a motivated Dental / Surgical Assistant to join our team! Here, you’ll be a vital part of the surgical team-delivering exceptional pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, so our patients feel supported every step of the way.
Working hours for this full-time position are Monday 8 : 00am-12 : 00pm Tuesday Sedona Day 5 : 30am -6 : 30pm Wednesday- Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm. As a team, we travel together to Sedona together 1 day / week and see patients in the Scottsdale office 3 days / week.

Key Responsibilities . As our Surgical Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in creating a smooth, positive experience for both patients and the surgical team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :
Supporting the surgeon during procedures - Assist with a variety of in-office surgeries, including extractions, dental implant placement, and treatment of oral pathology.Helping ensure patient safety and comfort - Monitor vital signs and assist with anesthesia, sedation, and IV fluids throughout procedures.Guiding patients through their care journey - Review pre- and post-operative instructions so patients feel confident and well-informed.Contributing to precision and accuracy - Take digital impressions and CBCT scans for implant cases, as well as acquire diagnostic x-rays.Keeping patient records up to date - Review medical histories and enter accurate information into our practice management software.Maintaining a ready operatory - Prepare and break down surgical trays and rooms to ensure efficiency and cleanliness.Managing surgical supplies - Track and organize instruments, implant components, and inventory to keep everything running seamlessly.Please note : Prior dental assisting experience in a dental or oral surgery setting that administers sedation / anesthesia is required .Qualifications :

Prior experience in dentistry is required, with a strong emphasis on oral surgery and proficiency in assisting during sedation procedures, which are highly valued for this role.High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of experience in a private practice, surgical facility and / or hospital setting.License and Certification Minimum Requirements :
Current CPR / BLS certification (Required).Dental Radiology Certificate holder (required) by way of :Pass the national DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam, OR
Be currently certified in another U.S. jurisdiction that requires successful completion of a written dental radiography exam, ANDApply to the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners (ASBDE) for Dental Assistant Radiography Certification by Credential and receive the Arizona Radiologic Proficiency Certificate, issued by the ASBDE.Registered Dental Assistant (Preferred).Phlebotomy certification (Preferred), or willingness to complete within 6 mos.Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE) Certification (Preferred), or willingness to complete within 18 months of employment.NOTE : Applications, resumes, and inquiries will only be accepted through this job advertisement.
