Position Overview
Provide high quality aquatics-based opportunities for all participants while fostering an environment of fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead department staff, including admin items such as scheduling and training
- Teach aquatics-based merit badges a lessons
- Present in front of group sizes of 2-24 youth and transfer knowledge
- Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner
- Assist with the set-up, maintenance, and take down of program areas
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
Minimum age : 21+Current Red Cross Lifeguard instructor certification or ability to obtain before the start of the seasonCurrent NCS Aquatics Director card or ability to obtain before the start of the seasonRequired 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employmentWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelinesHousing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45-55Desired Traits
