Overview

Associate, System Safety Engineer (Greenville, TX) at L3Harris Technologies. The role involves ensuring systems provide acceptable levels of safety and that critical systems perform as needed, even when components fail. The engineer will identify and manage safety risks to eliminate or reduce them to acceptable levels with mitigations.

Essential Functions

• Must possess the ability to establish and execute a MIL-STD-882 safety program that concludes with a comprehensive safety assessment.
• Must possess the ability to understand the concepts of preliminary and system hazard analysis, hazard logs, fault tree analyses, environmental assessment and management, risk assessments and mitigation, and occupational health hazard assessments.
• Ability to translate system requirements into functional requirements
• Ability to interpret technical drawings
• Able to work independently or in a team
• Available for minimal travel when required
