Responsibilities Work in an acute care, critical access hospital setting on a Med / Tele / Swing unit Unit has 19 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 3-6 Patient population includes acute and swingbed cases such as pneumonia, rehab, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, and GI bleed RNs required to manage telemetry, perform IV starts, insert NG tubes and foleys, and set up respiratory equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and HFNC RNs must read their own telemetry strips (Mindray monitors) Shift is 12 hours nights, with every other weekend and holiday scheduled Floating required to Med / Tele Acute, Observation, and Swingbed units Team scheduling with possible self- or block scheduling Uses Meditech EMR RNs may be part of the code team on the unit One CNA per shift provides personal care, vitals, and weights Excellent teamwork and a positive unit culture Scrubs are required and may be any color; must provide your own Three to four 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation provided First to float when floating is needed Up to 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract must be requested up front; additional RTO will not be approved Every other holiday coverage required No on-call or standby required Previous travel experience not required Requirements Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in medical and telemetry settings Current certifications required : BLS and ACLS Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, NG and foley insertion required Competency in setting up and managing BiPap, CPAP, and High-Flow Nasal Cannula required Must be able to read own telemetry strips Drivers license required Two professional references : one supervisor within 12 months and one peer or supervisor within 3 years May not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN by CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity in the past year Must live at least 50 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614932.
