Hiring Range

The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 / yr.

About the Job

The Outdoor Adventure Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, management, and oversight of outdoor adventure programs. This role includes planning and leading outdoor activities, ensuring participant safety, and promoting environmental stewardship. The coordinator will work closely with students, staff, and community partners to provide enriching outdoor experiences that foster personal growth, teamwork, and a love for nature.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Development and Management

• Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, rock climbing, and water sports. Develop and implement educational workshops on outdoor survival skills, environmental awareness, and nature conservation. Coordinate logistics for trips, including transportation, and equipment rentals. Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and standards. Serve as a trip leader.
