Compensation Range : The base pay scale for this position is $42.65 - $42.65. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to : scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Overview

The Carpenter I performs a variety of maintenance and repair duties for the hospital's Engineering Department. The Carpenter I reports to and receives direction from the Trades Manager or designee.

The incumbent is guided by experience and knowledge of building carpentry skills, including but not limited to those detailed on the Job Skill Assessment for Carpenter I and II.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties in maintaining, repairing, and renovating the facility's infrastructure, in addition to demonstrating peripheral tasks as detailed below :
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams, determines materials needed, estimates time and material costs on installations, and requests supplies to assure timely and adequate availability.
• Constructs millwork in a professional manner at all times.
• Performs rough framing.
• Installs drywall and other wall finish materials.
• Hangs ceiling tiles, ceiling grid and cubicle tracks.
• Constructs / Repairs furniture, shelving, benches, and partitions, including Formica work, cabinets, and bulletin boards.
• Hangs pictures, bulletin boards, signs, etc.
• Replaces hinges, door closures, and other similar hardware.
• Makes and hangs fire doors.
