Overview
Field Performance Tests / Air flow testing and aerial inspections at ProcessBarron. This position is responsible for field testing of industrial fan systems and auxiliary equipment, including flying a drone. The role involves data collection and analysis of fan systems, boiler systems, kiln systems, and steel mill draft systems in the field for potential equipment improvements. The role includes Estimation, Inspection, and Planning responsibilities, with duties related to developing estimates and inspections, visiting site locations, assisting Sales with pricing / proposals on inspections, processing change orders, and providing updates within the Spare Parts Division.
Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite field testing with flow test equipment, particulate test equipment, and instrumental sampling methodologies.
- Lead test projects in the field and manage multiple sampling systems and testing locations.
- Prepare test programs prior to mobilization and serve as the in-field representative interfacing with clients and sales personnel.
- Ensure quality data collection and timely submittals by coordinating with the Fan System Test Manager.
- Provide training to Project Scientists using standard AST training materials and guidance from Operations Excellence.
- Support Design Engineers and Sales Personnel as needed.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams; work effectively within a team and as a self-starter.
- Work safely in both office and field environments, operate aerial equipment (including drone operations) and elevated platforms up to 300 feet, and obtain a Commercial Drone License.
- Flexibility to work 40–50 hours per week, including some nights and weekends; adapt to site conditions such as heights, confined spaces, and varying environments.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma.Experience : Minimum 2 years leading test projects in the field; project management experience including client interface, safety leadership, data collection, quality initiatives, and timely deliverables.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Specific knowledge of flow and pressure test equipment operations, troubleshooting, and calibration; good verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.Certifications : Valid driver's license and passport; ability to obtain a Commercial Drone License.Physical Requirements : Ability to work 40–50 hours per week, tolerate occasional nights / weekends, and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders / stairs, and lifting up to 75 pounds; ability to access sites with heights, confined spaces, or tunnels.Job Details
