HOURS : 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm, Monday-Friday
PAY : Based on skills and experience
The ideal Architectural Drafter will work closely with our design and production teams to create accurate, detailed, and buildable construction drawings for residential remodeling projects. Candidates should have experience in architectural drafting and residential construction and be skilled in CAD software. This position requires attention to detail, clear communication, and a deep understanding of construction techniques and remodeling workflows. This role entails the
following tasks, as well as other duties not mentioned, to ensure successful design execution and project delivery :
Responsibilities :
DRAFTING + DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
- Collaborate with the chief visionary, sales team, and lead carpenter to review project scope, design intent, and objectives before contract signing.
- Create architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using CAD software and Sketchup
- Develop accurate as-built drawings based on site measurements and client input.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, code-compliant, and reflect the current project scope.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and subcontractors to incorporate structural and mechanical details.
- Prepare 3D visualizations or renderings as needed to communicate design ideas.
PRE-CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
Review and revise plans to reflect client selections and specifications.Assist in preparing permit-ready drawing sets in accordance with local codes and submission requirements.Coordinate closely with the office team to prepare documents for lead carpenter handoff.Generate construction sets and detail sheets for cabinetry, millwork, and custom elements.Review subcontractor quotes and architectural documents for alignment with final design.CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT
Support the project team by providing clarifications or revisions during construction.Update drawings to reflect any approved change orders.Assist in the preparation of product and finish schedules.Attend occasional site visits to verify field conditions or support layout coordination.PROJECT CLOSEOUT
Update drawings to reflect as-built conditions, changes made during construction, and final specifications.Archive finalized project drawings and details for future reference.Skills + Requirements :
3+ years of experience in residential design / drafting, with a focus on remodeling or renovations.Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and Sketchup experience is preferred)Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and architectural detailing.Ability to read and produce construction documents with a high degree of accuracy.Strong communication skills to collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Experience with permit documentation and compliance is a plus.Portfolio or work samples required.About the Company
