Patient Care Technician (Nursing)

Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Patient Care Technician (Nursing) for their Concord, MA location.

Responsibilities :

• Assists with patient transport and transfer within department and hospital.
• Administers Oxygen via nasal cannula, NRB, and BVM.
• Applies NIBP, ECG electrodes, pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2 for central monitoring of patients.
• Assists with responding to patient call lights and / or family requests and refers appropriately.
• Assures the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills when assisting with nursing care activities as directed by licensed nursing personnel.
• Performs duties generally supportive to the activities of daily living for patients, which do not require nursing assessment skills during their performance.
• Performs unit related tasks as assigned by the Nurse Director, or designee.
• Attends appropriate inservice and educational programs commensurate with job responsibilities.
• Floats to various units, as requested.
• Accepts assignments and under the direction from the Charge RN, or designee.
• Immediately reports changes in patient condition to primary care RN.
• Completes assignments and demonstrates ability to adapt to changes in workload.
• Accurately obtains, documents and reports vital signs and rechecks as needed. Reports abnormal findings to primary RN or Charge RN.
• Accurately measures and documents intake and output as needed.
• Performs capillary blood glucose testing utilizing proper technique and equipment document results and reports abnormal results to RN.
• Performs ECGs.
• Maintains and supports patients rights to care, privacy and respect.
• Participates in unit / hospital projects that seek to improve patient care.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.
