About The Position

Job Title : Scrub Tech Per Diem

Location : Shasta Regional Medical Center California

Position Summary :

Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Scrub Technician to join our Per Diem Operating Room team . The Scrub Tech assists surgeons and perioperative staff during surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique, instrument readiness, and efficient workflow in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare the operating room by gathering and organizing sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.

Scrub in for surgical cases and maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.

Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently and safely.

Count instruments, sponges, and sharps according to policy before and after procedures.

Assist with patient positioning, draping, and specimen handling as directed.

Clean and restock rooms and instrument sets between cases.

Adhere to infection control, surgical safety, and hospital protocols.

Qualifications (Legally Required) :

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required

BLS (AHA) certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience required per company policy

Certification (CST or TS-C) preferred but not required under California law

Shift Details : Type : Per Diem

Schedule : Variable, based on surgical volume and departmental needs
