Senior Streets And Stormwater Technician
The City of Largo is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our Streets and Stormwater Division. This senior-level position involves hands-on work installing, maintaining, cleaning, inspecting, and repairing both open and closed stormwater conveyance systems. Team members in this role serve as crew leaders or work independently to perform tasks such as laying and repairing storm lines, constructing and maintaining manholes, inlets, curbs, streets, sidewalks, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities also include clearing vegetation and debris from ditches, creeks, ponds, and lakes. Work is performed outdoors under varying environmental conditions and must comply with Federal, State, and local regulations, including the City's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, 6 : 30 a.m. to 3 : 00 p.m., under the direction of a supervisor to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Emergency Response Status : As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and / or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description.

Education And Experience :
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and eight (8) years of experience in the operation of trucks, tractors, or other equipment related to Stormwater and Roadway construction or an equivalent combination of training and experienceFlorida Class "A" CDL with Tanker and Haz-Mat EndorsementFor continued employment, the employee must possess (or obtain) before one year in the position :Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification

Work Environment : 20% inside a climate-controlled building and 80% outside, which may include driving.
Physical Requirements : The essential functions of the job require sitting approximately one (1) hour per day, standing approximately three (3) hours per day, and walking approximately four (4) hours per day. The job also requires frequent fine manipulations, reaching, repetitive motion, and lifting objects weighing up to 15 pounds, with occasional grasping and carrying objects weighing up to 45 pounds. On rare occasions, the work requires bending / stooping, climbing a ladder, crawling, kneeling, pulling, pushing, and carrying objects weighing more than 45 pounds.
Sensory Requirements : Hearing : Ability to hear radio and phone and understand what others are saying in normal conversation and on the telephone. Speaking : Ability to communicate orally with others and speak effectively on the phone. Seeing : Ability to see and read computer monitor screens, operate a vehicle, and read normal print.
Driving Requirements : The work requires driving and possession of a valid Florida CDL as designated by the position assigned.
Technology : The work requires the ability to operate telephones, smartphones, tablets, photocopiers, printers, desktop and / or laptop computers, calculators, and all associated software.
