Job Summary : Provide healthcare services under the supervision of a physician including conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychiatric treatment.

- Interviews patients and completes psychiatric assessments including diagnosing and treatment planning
- Obtains medical history from patients, manages stable medical conditions and determines if medical consultation is needed
- Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens including psychopharmacologic recommendations
- In concert with the multidisciplinary team develops comprehensive plans of care including aftercare planning
- Assesses patients daily during Behavioral Health Crisis Center rounds, updating charts, ordering treatment and reporting back to physician as needed
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records following professional and organizational practice guidelines
- Orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
- Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal
- Completes all documentation within 24 hours of service
Required Knowledge & Skills :

Work Environment : This job operates in a behavioral health crisis environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some minor travel between Gateway sites may be required at times.

Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 15 pounds. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer. Employee frequently uses fine hand / eye coordination, hearing and visual acuity. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant condition caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Gateway sites.
