Vistra is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to apply expert level understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles to design training and practical learning tools (e.g., workshops, capacity-building resources, continuing education modules) delivered with expert facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
This position is primarily remote but is required to reside in the National Capital Region (NCR), with ad hoc on-site requirements at the Mark Center and / or Pentagon.
- Develop and execute learning objectives, curriculum, content, collateral, and evaluation plans for instructor led and online continuing education courses
- Analyze strategy, curriculum design and development, and content delivery and facilitation
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models to create engaging, immersive training
- Develop and execute training needs assessments and evaluations
- Deliver complex, sensitive content clearly and empathetically to varied audience
- Provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations (e.g., email, leadership briefings, training slides, one pagers)
- Work independently, with some guidance to ensure, high fidelity of training and technical assistance activities with relevance to the military environment
- Perform other tasks as required
Requirements :
Master’s degree in instructional design, education, psychology, public health, or a related field7+ years directly related experience (10+ years total work experience)Experience with learning analysis and strategy, curriculum design and development, and content delivery and facilitationExperience with Learning Management Systems such as JKOExperience applying adult learning principles and instructional design models to create engaging, immersive trainingExperience with training needs assessments and evaluationAbility to provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectationsAbility to obtain a security clearanceAdditional Preferred Qualifications
