Ultrasound Technologist Iii
Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities :
Perform routine and special diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to departmental and hospital policies. Operates and maintains all sonographic and ancillary equipment; assists with providing 24 hours a day, seven days.
- Operates ultrasound equipment associated with the performance of all ultrasound procedures, including portable, biopsies and emergency examinations. Recognizes and reports equipment malfunctions.
- Follows ACR and department policies in order to maximize image view quality.
- Assists with department coverage, including on-call hours.
- Assists the Radiologists and physicians with biopsies and cyst aspirations. Sets upon the exam room and utilizes sterile techniques.
- Operates teleradiology and ancillary equipment.
- Schedules appointments and instructs patient with regard to preparation instructions.
- Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
Ultrasound Technologist Requirements :
Associate degree : Graduate of an accredited certification program in Ultrasound Technology or Radiologic Technology3 months – 1 yearMinimum of three (3) months of full-time Sonographer experience or equivalent.Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language fluently.Current BLS and / or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.Ultrasound III shall include the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry in three or more disciplines : Abdominal, Obstetrics, Breast and / or Vascular.Benefits :
