Job Description As a Customs Entry Clerk, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of imported goods through U.S.

Customs.

This position offers an opportunity to become an integral part of a specialized customs team of approximately 10 professionals within a larger Supply Chain department of 35 people.

You'll work directly with U.S.

Customs through the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) system, handling the preparation and submission of import entry summaries for furniture shipments arriving primarily from Asia, including China, Malaysia, and India.

Your day-to-day will involve analyzing import documentation, validating product classifications, and ensuring timely customs clearance to keep the supply chain moving efficiently.

Since the company deals exclusively with furniture imports, you'll develop deep expertise in a focused product category with consistent processes.

You'll report to the Customs Compliance Manager and collaborate closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities Review and process import documentation for accuracy and completeness Enter and transmit accurate customs data to U.S.

Customs via the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) Validate correct product classification in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and General Rules of Interpretation Track incoming shipments to ensure timely customs entry submission and clearance Prioritize workload effectively to prevent delays in the clearance process Collaborate with customs team members on daily activities and problem-solving Communicate with freight forwarders, customs officials, and internal departments to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies Analyze import data to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies Submit Post Summary Corrections to U.S.

Customs as needed Monitor clearance status of shipments and communicate updates to stakeholders Required Experience / Skills High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of experience with customs entry processing and U.S.

Customs regulations Experience with ocean imports and customs entry procedures Knowledge of U.S.

Customs regulations, processes, and compliance requirements Basic understanding of the import supply chain process Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels, agencies, and vendors Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet demanding deadlines Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high efficiency and accuracy Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle sudden changes in workflow Ability to work with and maintain sensitive and confidential information Nice-to-Haves Experience working with furniture or home goods imports Familiarity with imports from Asian markets Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule specific to furniture products Experience working in a high-volume import environment Education High school diploma or equivalent required Pay & Benefits Summary Salary Range : $50,000

  • $60,000 per year Relocation assistance available ($3,000
