Special Needs Child Care Assistant

White Bear Lake Area Schools is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Child Care Assistant to support students with special needs who are enrolled in our Extended Day Programs, which operate before and after school on weekdays, from September through June.

These programs offer enriching opportunities that celebrate youth with diverse interests, talents, and perspectives.

As a Special Needs Child Care Assistant, you will provide individualized and group-based support to students with special needs, ensuring their successful participation in program activities.

This role includes modeling and encouraging appropriate behavior, communication, and dress while supporting the students' engagement and development in a safe and inclusive environment.

Your Role Will Include :

• Provide direct support to students with special needs during program activities in individual, small group, or large group settings.
• Foster student engagement by modeling and encouraging appropriate behavior, communication, and participation.
• Assist with adapting activities and environments to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with staff to implement behavior support strategies and ensure student safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations to the Site Supervisor as needed.
• Attend all required training and staff meetings to maintain compliance and support professional growth.
