You Will Be Responsible For :
- Facilitating day-to-day workflow and operations, including recommending procedures for obtaining authorization, forms, and letters required for pre-transplant, transplant, and post-transplant phases.
- Providing customer service recovery when patient complaints / concerns are reported, serving as a liaison between Managed Care and other AdventHealth departments.
- Reviewing all hospital and professional charges ensuring the appropriate, payer, guarantor, and alternate payers are correct ensuring proper and timely claims filing.
- Performing crisis intervention when financial issues arise pre- and post-implant / transplant.
- Participating in patient advocacy, resource brokering, and information and referral services.
- Serving as a general advocate for patients and their families throughout the pre-and post-transplant process.
- Participating in authorized alternatives for the program such as Letters of Agreement, Pre-Provision of Services, and Foundation Philanthropy; working with Managed Care, Legal Services, and The Foundation to ensure proper protocols are followed, if a denial is received.
- Preparing quotes for international patients and working with all AdventHealth parties to ensure that accounts are billed timely and that payments are dispersed appropriately.
- Proactively initiating quality improvement ideas / suggestions in an effort to improve the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improve the health of the populations served, and reduce the cost of clinic care.
- Establishing and maintaining a working relationship with key contacts at insurance companies (i.e. case managers, medical directors) and other departments within AdventHealth (i.e. Patient Financial Services, Reimbursement, and Accounting).
- Maintaining current knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules or any legislation affecting the transplant patients.
