Under the direction of the Supervisor Landscape, the Lead Landscape - TGO will maintain the integrity of the department by ensuring all Landscape team members are properly trained and that all safety standards are strictly adhered to while maintaining all enterprise properties.
Responsibilities
- Supports landscaping, housekeeping, and maintenance tasks across Enterprise properties as needed, performing duties from various landscaping roles.
- Operates and trains others on equipment like tractors, tools, and mowers to complete tasks safely and effectively.
- Leads and mentors team members in landscape repairs, upkeep, and erosion control, following proper standards.
- Guides and monitors staff, checking work quality and schedules, and offering daily feedback.
- Prioritizes projects and assigns work tasks to Landscaper, TGO; assists with projects as needed.
- Restores and maintains the land integrity of the Tribal Reservation and San Manuel Properties through the removal of debris and waste, ensuring a clean, safe and well-kept environment.
- Provides on-call availability in response to emergencies, natural disasters, or scheduled events.
- Performs basic maintenance duties while maintaining cleanliness and functionality of all maintenance vehicles.
- Ensures shop areas and assigned vehicles remain clean, orderly, and ready for daily operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum of two (2) years related experience working within a housekeeping, maintenance or landscape environment required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and vendors.Must be able to troubleshoot issues related to plant health, irrigation, or site conditions.Knowledge of plant species, soil types, irrigation systems, and seasonal planting required.Knowledge of landscaping tools and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems required.Must be able to adjust plans and workflows based on weather, client feedback, or unforeseen challenges.Must be able to safely operate, maneuver, and transport landscape and construction equipment in various work environments and climates.Must be able to demonstrate good judgment skills in all areas within their scope of responsibility.This position may require one to work and travel between various locations throughout the enterprise.Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.Authorized Driver : Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions – Environment
