United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc. is on call 24 / 7 / 365 to assist with institutional, commercial, and residential property loss claim adjustment and recovery.

We prepare, file, document, appraise, estimate, negotiate, and manage the payment of insurance claims on behalf of policyholders, not insurance companies.

Licensed and bonded in 20+ states , our expert public adjusters serve New York City, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, and the US Virgin Islands , covering a variety of claims including flood, fire, vandalism, and business interruption.

Our clients include schools, municipalities, real estate developers, financial advisors, and more.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Melville, NY for an In-House Insurance Coverage Attorney – Property Claims.

The attorney will :

  • Provide legal analysis and strategic support on complex property claims.
  • Conduct research and draft legal documents, opinions, and strategy memoranda.
  • Collaborate with adjusters, estimators, and outside counsel to strengthen case outcomes.
  • Ensure policyholders’ rights are fully supported throughout the claims process.

Note : United Public Adjusters is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation. This is an in-house support role focused on strengthening our advocacy on behalf of policyholders.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed attorney in New York (multi-state admission highly valued; additional jurisdictions a plus).
  • 4+ years of experience in insurance coverage law or property damage litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and policy interpretation skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
