Now Hiring : Sr. Telecommunication Engineer | Houston, TX (Onsite)

Location : Houston, TX (5 days onsite)

Duration : 12+ months (with strong possibility of extension)

Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Telecommunication Engineer to join a major Oil & Gas project in Houston, TX. This role involves hands-on engineering design system integration , and technical leadership for large-scale telecommunication systems in an EPC environment. Expect a mix of onsite work weekly contractor visits , and occasional travel to Louisiana project sites.

Must-Have Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication or Electrical Engineering
  • 5–10 years of experience in detailed telecom design for Oil & Gas projects
  • Prior experience with EPC contractors (e.g., Wood, Bethel, etc.)
  • PAGA, CCTV, SCADA, Radio (VHF / UHF), Satellite, Microwave, and Navigation systems
  • Telecom systems architecture , coverage calculations, fiber link budgets, and power / heat load analysis
  • Strong grasp of international telecom and electrical design standards
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Area codes PSSR , and MOC processes
  • Ability to review vendor proposals , conduct technical evaluations , and lead cross-discipline coordination

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review design documents, system specifications, and telecom deliverables
  • Perform technical calculations (radio coverage, fiber optic link budgets, SPL, etc.)
  • Develop and review system architecture and network designs
  • Conduct site surveys (onshore / offshore) and vendor interface meetings
  • Support preventive / corrective maintenance planning and ensure technology standards compliance
  • Lead minor project implementations and ensure delivery within defined SLAs
