Senior Medical Equipment Planner
The Senior Medical Equipment Planner directly performs medical equipment planning, procurement, installation, and other related project consulting services assignments contracted for delivery by the Company. They successfully plan and manage the equipment scope, develop and deliver the medical equipment documents, throughout the duration of our healthcare, science, and education projects.
This role is responsible for managing projects ranging in size and complexity while simultaneously establishing a rapport with the design team and fostering ongoing relationships with the project owners.
Responsibilities include :
- Performing medical equipment consulting services as assigned, ensuring project continues on schedule and within budgetary and quality requirements.
- Developing order of magnitude estimated equipment costs for clinical spaces based on program information from architects.
- Leading and participating in medical equipment planning meetings with senior leadership, clinical users, architects, engineers, and consultants to support the selection of appropriate medical equipment.
- Collaborating on medical equipment siting and installation requirements with clinical users, architects, engineers, and other consultants.
- Elevating any issues related to medical equipment to the Client's project team and ensuring they are tracked and addressed.
- Developing medical equipment lists and associated estimated costs within MEQ planning database(s).
- Revising medical equipment lists and estimated costs as projects move from schematic design through procurement and installation.
- Understanding and working to meet project schedule timelines.
- Conducting and documenting surveys and inventories of existing equipment within healthcare facilities.
- Reviewing submittal documents to ensure they are accurate and correct.
- Working with vendors and internal ADAMS resources to provide detailed specifications be used for procurement proposals, including bidding.
- Working with procurement on the reconciliation of purchase order information to equipment programmed within projects.
- Collaborating with BIM team to ensure equipment placement drawings and submittals are complete and accurate.
- Providing clear documentation of equipment changes to coordinators to update equipment lists.
- Assisting in preparation of project proposals and attending meetings as a project representative, working to establish positive client relationships.
- Providing project medical equipment budget updates to the project Owner as required.
- Managing project invoicing, tracking and managing project profitability.
- Managing overall project lifecycle from inception through to lessons learned close-out including but not limited to planning, construction administration, procurement, and installation.
- Reviewing warehousing and other third-party payment requests and recommending approval or revision.
- Maintaining financial responsibilities required to support invoicing, revenue tracking, and overall successful outcome of projects.
- Ensuring effective communications and a collaborative work environment. When leading projects, the position will provide management and oversight.
Qualifications include :
Education :
Bachelor of Arts, Science, Architecture, Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Nursing or any other applicable degree, combined with experience.Experience :
Five to Ten years of experience of medical equipment planning consulting, and project management in healthcare, or directly related industry.Knowledge :
Adept with planning, procurement and installation process and requirements for MEQ projects, including complex medical equipment systems. Maintains a current knowledge of medical equipment devices and systems and their applications within healthcare facilities. This includes all departments, specialties, and advanced / complex medical equipment systems throughout.Strong attention to detail is required, as are excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple large complex projects simultaneously. Expert within the MEQ planning database(s), including understanding of all equipment specifications for structural, mechanical, electrical, data, and plumbing siting and installation requirements. Additional computer proficiency including Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel. Ensures all aspects of medical equipment team deliverables, including being on time, complete and accurate.Must have an active driver's license and be insurable to travel. The role requires regional travel to project sites on a regular basis for meetings, site inspections, and other coordination activities.
