Summary : This position is a contract role with the potential to transition into a permanent position with JH Kelly. JH Kelly has grown into one of the largest industrial mechanical contractors in the Pacific Northwest. Our Industrial Projects encompass everything from building foundations, structural steel, and all types of process and material moving equipment to intricate process piping and instrumentation & control systems. As a self-performing industrial general contractor, we excel at completing complex, multi-craft projects under challenging schedule constraints.
Salary Range : $45-$55 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible).
Key Responsibilities :
- Learn, follow, and promote Company safety and quality protocols.
- Maintain accurate quantity tracking data and cost control reporting.
- Thoroughly review drawings, submittals, samples, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with the contract.
- Assist with estimating, scheduling updates, and working with material handling systems and equipment.
- Write and manage RFIs and change orders.
- Plan and coordinate work to facilitate the work permit process.
- Review construction procedures, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with the contract.
Relationships :
Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the crafts, including shop and field craft personnel.Foster positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, safety, CAD / BIM, accounting, IT, and all project teams.Experience / Qualifications :
Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, and Civil Engineering degree and / or equivalent experience or education.5+ years of Project Engineering experience in the heavy industrial construction industry and refinery setting.Experience in heavy industrial equipment installations in refineries.Familiarity with Mechanical operations and / or other applicable mechanical construction experience.Scheduling experience and / or education.Solid working knowledge of Project Management, Construction Contracts, Quality Assurance / Quality Control, and Safety.Proficient in reading piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping, and isometrics drawings.Must be willing to travel as required for project sites, client meetings, and company-related activities. Travel frequency and duration depend on project demands.Necessary Skills :
Fully proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam, with intermediate skills in Excel.Strong oral and written communication skills.Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative.Organized and productive with the ability to prioritize workload.Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand.Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.Must have a valid driver's license.Why Join JH Kelly?
