Salary : $80,000 - $105,000 per year

A bit about us :

One of the largest labor and employment law practices. They work on the defense side, representing their clients in matters including employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, workers' compensation, wage and hour litigation, workplace safety, employee benefits, ERISA and more.

This position will support Warren NJ three attorneys, two Partners and one Associate, with civil litigation matters in labor employment practice. This position will follow cases through the full litigation lifecycle. Our ideal candidate must be an independent thinker, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage time efficiently, able to multi-task and work with a high degree of accuracy in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Law Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. As a paralegal, you will be responsible for providing support to attorneys in all phases of the litigation process. You will work closely with our legal team to ensure that all legal matters are handled efficiently and effectively. This is a full-time position in the legal industry.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, including but not limited to, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support the case.
  • Assemble affidavits and other legal documents for use in court proceedings.
  • Communicate with vendors, opposing counsel, and clients to gather information and coordinate efforts.
  • Maintain case files and ensure that all documents are properly organized and filed.
  • Follow full cycle litigation lifecycle to ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Research legal articles, treaties, and legal codes to stay up-to-date on legal developments.
  • Provide support in labor and employment law cases.
  • Utilize Westlaw, Compulaw, and Kolfax to assist with legal research.
  • Provide support in employment defense cases.
  • Proficiency in New Jersey E-filing on a state and federal level required.

Qualifications :

  • Paralegal certificate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in labor and employment law.
  • Working knowledge of motions, discovery, litigation documents, court practices, and legal procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with vendors, opposing counsel, and clients.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw, Compulaw, and Kolfax.
  • Experience in employment defense cases.
  • Proficiency in New Jersey E-filing on a state and federal level required.
  • Years of experience in relevant L&E litigation environments.
