Tool & Die Maker

North Star Company is a premium roll forming company in Gardena, CA. We are currently in search of an adept Tool & Die Maker for our manufacturing facility. Interpreting prints and engineer drawings, cutting and shaping dies, assembling completed parts, and being able to assess completed product performance are all skills necessary for this Tool & Die Maker role. Potential candidates must have significant experience in metal working, adequate manual dexterity, and ability to visualize structural components.

Responsibilities :

  • Reading and interpreting prints and engineering drawings
  • Conducting test runs for completed tools and dies
  • Computing metal stock for machining process
  • Visualizing and calculating metal shapes and their tolerances
  • Jig / template design for fabrication
  • Cutting / shaping blocks into particular dimensions
  • Machine set-up (specifically : tooling, drills, latches, grinders, and milling machines)
  • Fitting and assembling tooling and die components
  • Die and tool inspection

Requirements :

  • Prior significant experience in metal working, tool and die making
  • Proficient knowledge of machine tools and their functions
  • Ability to read prints, engineering drawings, and design schematics
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills
