Facilities Officer
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Officer to oversee and manage security operations in a dynamic defense industry setting. This role requires a proactive individual to ensure compliance with security protocols and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining employee security clearances, enforcing facility security protocols, delivering security awareness training to employees, investigating and documenting security breaches, conducting compliance audits and self-inspections, handling classified information, liaising with government security agencies, and assessing risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Essential skills include active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret, prior experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) in defense or government contracting, knowledge of NISPOM and classified security procedures, experience with DoD-impacted controls (IL4, IL5, IL6), strong investigative skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and proven leadership in managing security teams.
Additional skills and qualifications include previous FSO experience in defense or government contracting, background in physical or information security, and experience managing security clearances.
This position operates in a classified facility with strict access controls in a fast-paced, high-security environment. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and government agencies, focusing on implementing IL5 / IL6 security measures. The work environment fosters a culture of compliance, confidentiality, and continuous improvement. The position is primarily remote, with required monthly travel to Auburn Hills.
This is a contract-hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan. The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00 / hr.
