HRSA Student Loan Reimbursement Eligible!! Upt to $60,000 a year for three years!

MAIN FUNCTION : The Psychologist will provide psychological assessments, psychotherapy, and counseling services to individuals with mental health and behavioral health disorders. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care that supports clients in their journey to recovery and wellness.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including diagnostic assessments, neuropsychological testing, and risk assessments for individuals with mental health and substance use concerns.
• Use evidence-based assessment tools to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning and develop accurate clinical diagnoses.
• Provide detailed psychological reports that include findings, diagnosis, and recommendations for treatment and interventions.
• Provide individual and group therapy to clients with mental health conditions, using evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic interventions.
• Work with clients to develop treatment plans that are personalized to meet their unique psychological, emotional, and social needs.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed for individuals experiencing acute distress, including assessments for risk of harm to self or others.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (including psychiatrists, social workers, APRNs, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals) to coordinate and integrate care.
• Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and treatment planning sessions to ensure holistic, client-centered care and support the goals of the treatment team.
• Consult with other healthcare providers and agencies as needed to ensure continuity of care and assist with referrals for additional services or resources.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources.
• Empower clients by helping them develop skills to manage their symptoms, improve functioning, and achieve their personal goals.
• Educate clients on mental health recovery principles and provide ongoing support in achieving long-term well-being.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, therapy notes, progress reports, and other client-related records in the agencys electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner, adhering to HIPAA and agency policies on confidentiality and record-keeping.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including CCBHC accreditation requirements and state / federal mental health guidelines.
• Assess and manage crisis situations involving clients in acute mental health distress, providing appropriate interventions and referrals as needed.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for clients at risk of self-harm or harm to others.
• Provide emergency psychological services, including working with clients in crisis and providing appropriate interventions, including hospitalization if necessary.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to less experienced staff, including interns, case managers, or other mental health professionals as part of professional development and training.
• Share expertise on psychological assessment and therapy, helping to guide and develop other team members skills.
• Stay current with new developments in psychological research and evidence-based treatment methods.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of clinical services and client outcomes.
• Contribute to the development of new clinical programs and strategies that improve the delivery of care within the CCBHC model.
• Assist in outreach efforts to educate the community about available mental health services and reduce stigma related to behavioral health issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical or Program Director.
