Position(s) located in Business Operations - IT Support Section.
Examples Of Duties
The primary duty of this position is to provide clerical support for the Business Operations - IT Support section. The position will support computer and technology inventory management, and administrative duties related to the agency's computer, automation and technology internal systems. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Employee(s) in this position must be team oriented and possess a high degree of flexibility. The position is required to have a general working knowledge and understanding of all clerical tasks and functions within the section along with a detailed working knowledge of the specific tasks for at least two of the operational units, as designated by the administrative supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant / secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
General knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods and practices. General knowledge of and ability to use correct spelling, punctuation and specialized vocabulary; Ability to proofread. General knowledge of office accounting and record keeping procedures, mathematics and their application in the work environment. Ability to learn and apply a variety of guidelines. Ability to use a variety of office equipment. Ability to work with people with courtesy and tact. Ability to screen communications based on predetermined guidelines to independently respond or route inquiries. Ability to record and compile information based on general guidelines. Ability to gather and give information and instructions regarding the work process or procedures. Ability to balance and reconcile figures. May require ability to coordinate work of other support staff, student workers or volunteers. Ability to learn to use specialized office equipment.
Conditions of employment : The selected applicant will be subject to the following conditions prior to appointment. Failure to complete or fulfill these conditions may result in dismissal. The employee in this position will be operating motor vehicles for Cumberland County and shall have a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Each applicant who is tendered an offer for employment for any position with Cumberland County shall be tested for the use of drugs specified in the County policy. Refusal to submit to testing or a confirmed positive test shall be a basis for withdrawal of the conditional employment offer. Law enforcement background check is required. This position may be required to undergo fingerprinting. This position will be required to assist in emergency and / or disaster situations. The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has a dress code policy that must be adhered to. This policy includes specific guidelines related tattoos and body piercing.
